So I am doing a full engine teardown. This is my first CBX. I have the following problem. The head has 19 'A' stamps and obviously 5 'B' stamps.
The actual buckets that I took out of the head didn't match the stamps at all. In fact, I have 8 'A' buckets and 16 'B' buckets.
My best guess is that a previous rebuild was completed by someone who had no idea there were different buckets and mixed in some either new or donor buckets. What should I do, buy 11 'A' buckets thus honoring all the correct bucket to head matches or just put everything back where I found it?

Re: Cam Bucket/Valve lifter conundrum
If I had access to the correct buckets (I do), I'd change them. That said, mic the buckets and you'll see very small differences. I can't remember which are larger, A or B, but a smaller bucket in the larger hole, small as the difference is, won't hurt anything. I have a ton of extra buckets if you want to match them up.
