What do you mean by tight fit? My swingarm bolted on rather easily with stock CBX hardware. What is the stock chain length? I am thinking I would only need a few more links. With the GS1100 swingarm, it lengthened the back about an inch or two. Once I get everything finished, I will post pics. I modified it by welding on spool mounts and powdercoated satin black. I also installed YSS shocks. Just need a chain to complete the transformation.

The 110 link chain did the trick. Everything is bolted back up. I just need to "adjust" the chain gaurd. The chain and gaurd is making some contact. Here is a pic of the swingarm off the bike. Unfortunately with the stock exhaust, you cannot see the swing arm.

Looks great, Lee.
A lot of the best stuff stays hidden, but you'll know. lol.
What chain guard are you going to use?
I got one from a chrome '81 GS1100 that needs a bit of a trim to lower it.

I am using a stock GS1100E chain guard. I need to tweak the front to keep the chain from clattering. I should have it squared away soon for a try out on the road.

Let us know your impressions, I'm also curious how the YSS's work out for you.

Thanks in advance,
