Progressive 420 or Hagon?

Post by Hawk451 »

Time to start some suspension upgrades on my mostly stock '82. For the rear shock, I was going to get a Progressive 420, but I'm beginning to think about a Hagon shock with remote preload adjuster. Anyone here have experience, good or bad, with the Hagon unit?

The Hagon with the remote preload adjuster sounds good. Never seen one. I don't like the prosus. I don't think Terry cares for it either. I have an 81 with the prosus and 82 with works performance. I prefer stock. Easy to rebuild and you can adjust the preload with air. Simple.

and I just found the Hagon site. Shock for prolink CBX is 255 British Clams, then you add 125 for remote preload adjuster. Seems reasonable.

Here's the US distributor.

Link from the UK site seems to have a glitch.

I have the progressive 420 on my other pro-link. Definitely a major improvement over stock. Hagon looks to be a bit more performance oriented and the remote adjuster would be worth the coin for hassle-reduction.

Thank you, hawk451, the shock with remote preload adjuster and heavy duty spring is $669.00 US Clams. My biggest problem with the prosus and wp is I have the preload set so stiff the ride is uncomfortable unless I really load the bike and still drag things too easy. And the difficulty involved in adjusting the preload.

My 81 handles pretty good -even two-up - with the stock unit. I have my doubts that I would be any faster due to improved handling with an aftermarket unit.... :? :?
