Good afternoon.

Thank you for accepting my to the group! I have a 1987 CBX 250. The fork seals are bad. Apparently they have been discontinued and I am having a hard time finding anything aftermarket. Wondering if anyone would know the size or how to get a set. Thank you in advance.

Greetings! Sorry to say, this group is pretty narrowly focused on the 6-cylinder CBX-1000. You might be lucky and get a good answer here, but IMO your best bet would be to hunt up the part number you need and then see if one of the online sellers like David Silver Spares or CMSNL or Ebay has it.

Good luck!

If it was a 1966 CBX 250 it would be a very different story !

Try part-number 51490-KAZ-003. Kit with fork seal and dust cap. This was the part for most DOHC 250s

I'm guessing that you meant the CB72 which was a 250cc. At least, here in the US, the CBX terminology was first used on the 6-cylinder introduced in '78 for the 1979 model year.

No, I mixed terminology. I was referring to the RC166 but no one would have got that either.
I withdraw my comment and refrain from being impulsive.

This site is about and for Honda in line 6 cyls. but we should be accommodating to all motorcycle
enthusiasts.

Honda used the moniker "CBX" on non-US bikes for models with DOHC engines, such as CBX750, CBX400F etc. In the U.S., some of models with these engines were sold as "Nighthawks" I have a non-US CBR250RR and the seal kit I posted above is in my parts list. I believe it will fit his bike.

EMS thank you very much. I can’t find any information online confirming that it’s the same part number but I am going try it anyways. Thanks again

You can go to your Honda dealer and ask for the part-number. They should have it.

Part number I was given was 51490-KK6-306

That part was originally released for the CBX125. I assume the 306 instead of the 305 may be a mistake

It is available at CMSNL

https://www.cmsnl.com/products/seal-set ... 490kk6305/

There is another part: 51490-473-305 , which comes up for a lot of 125/250 bikes. Even the 250cc Rebel
