80 left side exhaust wanted.....

Post by twinegar »

I need a used oem left side for my 80, part number 18400-469-000, must say HM-469 and not HM-422. Both sides would be ok also but I only need the left. My bike might sound funny with a 422 on one side and a 469 on the other. My 79 sounds good but my 80 sounds better and I read an old review about the differences in the two years.

The 80 is less restrictive twine, may not make a darn piece of difference but may well do ??

I have a 81 set on my third X and it is different sounding than the other two and those look alike systems on Ebay are copies of the 79 so I will either need to locate 80's or pull off the remaining 80 and install a set of 79's. To me restoring means keeping the numbers right so I will be running the bike long enough to burn out the moisture each time until I come up with a fix.
