Ontario Moto Tech

Oh, & I forgot to mention. Baffles on the Ontario Mototechs that I have were originally rivetted in, but I drilled out the rivets, installed riv-nuts & have screws holding the baffles in now. I think there were 1-2 small rust holes on the megaphone area but not large. Pretty thin metal on these units. Mine is 6-2 with pipe in middle, beneath engine, joining the 2 sides together, so that might have been meant for later model bike?

Those would Sankei (OEM) and with a crossover pipe, they're meant for the Prolinks, 81s and 82s. Hoping to get the 82 out tomorrow for a ride if it doesn't rain too much...

Not trying to revive a really old thread but I have looked everywhere. I am a new member of the forums thanks to my recently acquired '80 CBX that was my dad's. The bike has been sitting for over 15yrs and needs some serious TLC. The problem is I don't want to start tearing into the engine...because it is an OMT bored engine. If I were to break a ring I don't know where I could find any replacements since OMT has long been out of business. Maybe some of you CBX guys with OMT engines have some sources? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only OMT engine i knew about was in the bike owned by alimey4u2. Larry had it built by Kaz himself.
Unfortunately he has not been here in years.
There might be something in the archives.

They do custom pistons and rings.

I stumbled across a website that listed a number of internal parts like rings and pistons that could be switched between japanese brands...I never thought that was possible,it must be a mechanics worst nightmare to source parts for one of those frankenbikes...so it's quite possible those rings, pistons and wrist pins are stock items...if the bore is a common size a switch to Wiesco would solve your problem..

Yeah I checked his profile before I made the post. I will check the archives and see what he has posted.

I will check on that. I assume the biggest problem will be the $$$ to come up with for a set of rings that will work if I manage to break one while pulling everything apart and putting it back together again. I did turn the crank by hand and didn't hear any popping or cracking from the rings. The bike is going to be a lot of fun to revive due to the unique nature of it. My father put all sorts of performance parts on it from the time period. Judging by the help I've already received I'm glad to be a part of this community.

I stumbled across this ad for OMT while looking for something else.
No info, just interesting.
Hopefully Nils can rotate and possibly enlarge it a bit.

It came from this posting on a French Honda site.
The article of value to you Beard has been translated to English. It is a magazine article documenting an OMT engine build for a CB900F.
There should be a few things you can borrow for your engine restoration.

THIS was VERY helpful. I emailed this to my dad as he was having trouble recollecting exactly what OMT did to his engine aside from the 1168cc kit. Hopefully this will help him recall all the work that was done.
