NOS exhaust available on ebay

Post by Syscrush »

Subject says it all, really. This isn't mine, I found it via the CBX Book group on FB and thought that there might be someone on this forum willing and able to pay (asking price is £4,000.00 or about $5k USD) for a factory original exhaust:

Good thing I'm broke from my engine rebuild, or I'd be sorely tempted...

It's tempting, who are you, Rockefeller?

I have several Z, and A OEM Systems hanging in my pole barn, they all need a re-chromed but I'll make you a deal for a set

Sure. Unless the European CBXs were stamped HM422EU one side of these pipes are Sankei reproductions.
Best,

Hi,

The right hand exhaust is stamped "HM422 ED", which makes it one of the early "Sankei Replica" exhausts as far as I can tell. The left hand one may be genuine Honda (its stamped HM422).

The box they come in is a CMSNL box (not Honda), which again would suggest they are replicas - CMSNL was one of the distributors of the replicas.

I exchanged messages with the seller and pointed this out - he still believes they are genuine. He's had quite a lot of interest, and his best offer so far was around £2000 about a week ago (somewhat short of his £4000 asking price).

Paul.

If I was Rockefeller, I wouldn't be broke from one engine rebuild. :laughing-rolling:

Well, they're only going to go up in value, IMO.

No Really, I'll make you a deal, I'm not being facetious, It's time to let some of this stuff go, it's not doing anyone any good packed away in my shop and it's time for a new whole house air conditioner to make the wife happy.
