Led T10 BA9S T4W 1895 Red 12V Light Bulb

Post by Spooky#1 »

Has anyone tried these to back-light the gauges?
I plan to have my gauges restored at Pistol Pete's but until then I am experimenting with other options to brighten the gauge dials.
I saw these LED bulbs and plan to try them unless someone here already has had negative experience with them.

Not sure how I became a new member but apparently due to my absence for a couple of years I was demoted somehow.

Yo. Peeking in here. Not in a CBX, but did in another honda. Not those specific ones, but I got some higher intensity LEDs from superbright leds. Also note that a red bulb most likely is not necessary. The gauge color on oem is almost always from the gauge face itself. If you put a red bulb in the OEM equipment, it will most likely end up being extremely intense red on black and no idea how that would result. The color bulbs are usually used in aftermarket gauges that get color from the bulb, or when used in an accent situation like clear lenses or dome lights, etc.

These ones are almost too bright. At least for the signal indicators, but love em in the gauges. Note they are slightly longer than the standard incandescent bulb.

FYI. That is prime example of why don't shop Ebay. People default there now, and those sellers just buy from... well, that site I linked and sell the same part as a markup because people are silly and buy new parts off.... ebay... I just don't get it. Here is that exact same bulb from a supplier/distributor for less per bulb, same shipping cost and.... you will also get it faster since you don't have to wait for the flea bay seller to get them in first.

Oh, and buying from supplier, you actually get a bulb warranty on some. Those ones don't have one listed, but my main bulbs for signal and brakes do.

Back to the instrument cluster, Sorry the pic didn't turn out really clear, darn cell phone quick snap.

It has full LED conversion, just links for the other pics if interested in headlights and signals. No wiring mods required. All OEM wiring is untouched. Headlight is from Truck-Lite. Cannot wait to do same for the CBX
