starter motor rebuild kit, needle bearing problem
Hi, I have bougth in Ebay a rebuild starter motor kit.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/280461863216?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT
All parts were ok, except the needle bearing that is a different size, the one that I need is for a 13.5mm shaft, BMT141912A, the one in the box is a HK1312, is too small.
Someone knows where I can buy the correct one, or any solution?
Thanks
Regards
Miguel

Re: starter motor rebuild kit, needle bearing problem
Miguel did you ever find the bearing you were looking for?
I just bought the exact same kit for my '79 and am having the same problem, a further complication ....I destroyed the original bearing when removing it.
If you found a replacement could you let me know where you got it?
Thanks
Rick

Re: starter motor rebuild kit, needle bearing problem
It is very difficult to find, I think almost impossible. Luckily mine was not broken, and was reused. The easiest way is to machine the shaft to 13mm ... If you find it, let us know!

Re: starter motor rebuild kit, needle bearing problem
Thanks Larry, but the bearing we need has a 13.5mm inside diameter, 19mm outside and 12mm deep. The 13.5mm I/S seems to be the deal breaker, I have found it in China but haven't had a lot of success with stuff that I have bought from there.
