Battery not charging

Post by Bukko89 »

Hi all, new to the forum have been doing bits and bobs to my bike, but am a bit stuck on the battery not charging, I have checked all the bits in the link below (great guide) apart from the alternator as its different, but all checks out ok other than the rectifier regulator part at the end of the triangle/pyramid.

I have a 84 CBX 750. has anyone got any ideas where to get a regulator/rectifier from?? or is ebay the best place to look.

Any help would be appreciated!

My CBX R/R is right fried from the connections being badly corroded and will probably get another. I order mine through a local distributor who can get the Japanese direct replacement versions. Trying to remember the manufacturer, but think it is an offshoot of electrosport? Will find out when I order the one for my CBX tomorrow and get back to you if you wish.

Managed to get a rectifier, not the problem. I also got a new (old) alternator. Does anyone know the size of bolt and pitch that will remove the windings from the housing??

It would be great if I could get those details!!! thinking for the future!

Heya Bucko,

This group is pretty much solely focused on the 6-cylinder CBX1000, so you might not get a helpful reply on that topic, but not because we wouldn't help you if we could!

Besides not being familiar with the bike, I really do not understand the question...
Could it be a 6mm bolt? Don't know the pitch, but assume it is the standard 1mm???

I believe his rotor is pressed on to the end of the crankshaft and he's asking what size puller bolt he needs. Unless the CBX750 has a jackshaft-mounted alternator behind the cylinders, then I don't understand the question either.

I think the CBX750 alternator is driven similar to the CBX1000..

....does the bolt look like this??

6160

Sorry, just saw the cbx part and joined away. any help is better than none!!

Daves79x is bang on, the bolt screws in and acts as a puller, withdrawing the windings/stator from its housing.

EMS - that bolt looks like the bolt that holds the rotor and fan piece in place in front of the stator.

Cheers for the help guys appreciated
