I am embarrassed to ask but i have another one of those stupid little things that seem to turn into big things.
How do i get the plastic base base off the bottom of the ignition switch? Is it just muscle?
I have no problem destroying it as i have already purchased the new base, it seems it should pop of but it is a no-go.
'81 ignition switch.

Re: '81 ignition switch.
You have to put the key in and turn it to a certain position to remove the base - cant remember just where. But you can tell if you pry down while turning the key where it wants to release. Once apart, you can easily see how to install the new one.
