Testing with coils from a DOHC 900

Post by Thunderdome74 »

So you will see by the amount of questions i have on here that the bike is still not running right.

So another

Starts fine, runs beautifully without a miss.
(done oldham couplers, shims, valves, rings, clutch rubbers etc) clutch is SILENT!!

When it warms up after a short ride she stumbles and misses) i believe the culprit is No 4 with number 3 close behind.

I have done the carbs countless times , including following mike nixons book to the letter and i am pretty sure its not the problem anymore as the bike really runs nicely when cold

I was wondering if i could swop the coil with one i have from an 80's era cb coil?

If it's the problem i will look at springing for a dyna set or sum such

Thanks guys
Thor

I believe they will work. You can also just switch them around at the coils and see it problem follows coil. You will have to change the primary wire also.
