Needle jets.

Post by steve murdoch icoa #5322 »

Are the needle jets the same for all four years?
I have a slide that is binding and in looking for the cause discovered a marred, ragged edged needle jet.

Steve: It depends on the bike's issue. For Canadian models 1980 through 1982 are the same. 1979 is different.

So the US models are the same needles?

I was going to use a needle jet from a set of VB64AA carbs to replace the bad one in a set of VB64BA carbs.
Figuring they are both Pro-Link carbs i should be good to go.

O.K.... I didn't know you were going across the border... :D :D VB64AA carbs are 1981 U.S. models, VB64AB are 1982 U.S. models. Canadian models are VB64BA for 1981 and VB64BB for 1982, but the jet needle sets are the same for all these.
You should be good. Is your Prolink a U.S. model?

Needle JETS are the same for all years - it is the jet needles that are different between '79 and '80-'82.

Needle JETS do not have a separate part-number in the Honda files. They are part of the jet needle kit. The kit numbers are different for the years as stated.

I am getting dizzy.
Thanks for the info, gents.

It is an American '81, Mike.
I picked it up in Oklahoma City from Robert Hill who was a member years ago.
