Same thing only different.

Post by whatscooking »

Recently I was asked if I could take a look at a 99 Honda Fourtrax 300 four wheeler that barley would run. Hard to start with the idle not returning very fast with backfiring, sounded familiar. I removed the carb in about ten minutes, so easy compared to the CBX, when I took the float bowl off I thought I was looking at a 79 CBX carb. It even had the rubber plug. I got a kit and needle from Honda. I used the same procedures in Mike Nixions book to clean and check passages. Back together and about as quick as I hit the starter button it was running and idling perfect.

Good stuff, cookin'. Hopefully it helps someone else with similar tangent problems.
