Red Hose 1979 CBX

Post by Patriotprop »

I went to local Honda Shop, and I ordered the hose the runs from the bottom of the left side of the airbox to the catch tank above the swing arm pivot. The hose that arrived is a correct fit but red in color, is this the correct color ?

No...I have never ordered one from Honda but I know they originally didn't come red. I would go to the hardware store and do some looking if I was you.

That hose does show as available from Honda. I'm sure it was NLA for years prior. The original was pretty clear, turning yellow/brown with age. Your pic does show the correct shape hose, but red? - really?

Guys pay big bucks to get custom-coloured hoses for their cars. That red hose is probably made of better materials than the original, and it does look faster.

It is the correct hose, it starts out a larger size to fit the nipple on the airbox and then shrinks down to a smaller size to fit the smaller nipple on the tank, and it is the correct length, no cutting needed.
