CBX1000 Carbs similar to CB750C Carbs?

Post by WingMan71 »

All,

I'm wondering if CBX1000 carbs are pretty much the same as the carbs on my '81 CB750C as far as the basic systems and their operation.

"Why do I ask", you say?

Well, my good friend let his '81 CBX1000 (he's the original owner and bike only has about 30K miles on it) sit for the last five years without running it. To nobody's surprise it won't run right at all now. Fuel bowl floats won't even shut off the gas flow! So a carb rebuild is in the immediate future.

I've rebuilt carbs on a CB750C and CB900C before, so I'm wondering if I'll be pretty much good to go if I try a rebuild on the CBX1000 carbs.

I know I'll need a Randakk's carb rebuild kit for it. Gonna get that on order.

Also, are there any detailed CBX carb rebuild instructions available on this site?

Thanks much for any help.

Yes, they are the same basic carbs - however the linkage system is different and pretty fiddly.
