needle and guide

Hi Guys

I'm putting my carbs back together and just wondered if someone could confirm which way around the main needle guide goes. this is the one in center of the carb body and which is held in place by the emulsion tube. it has a rounded end one side which I presume butts up against the emulsion tube and an open end which I presume is the end that sticks up inside the carb body and the side from which the main needle enters from? looking at a drawing, its hard to tell which way up it goes.

The open end faces up.
