carb T joints

Post by robsgreen »

Hi Guys

My engine is now fully rebuilt and hav enow turned my attention to and have found that the 2 T joints (alloy pipe with rubber T on the end) have perished. As these are no longer available, what can you do about it? I know i could try and get some used ones but wondered if there is known fix, conversion people do to get around this.

All help always appreciated.

cheers

Martin

And he's a good person with which to work. Straight shooter.

Disclaimer: I have a business relationship with Randakk's. I would not do so if I thought he was less than honest. ( He is the exclusive dealer for my handlebar conversions.)

I just pulled the aluminum shafts out of the old ones and built my own new ones with a piece of rubber tube. Be f--- (edited by moderator) if I would pay $50 for something that is going to rot off the bike again, PS it only vents into the atmosphere anyway , so it is not really a necessary part anyway ,sure you may find a dribble here and there if you don't have it, but you still have a $50 in your pocket. Take 10 min and make them yourself.
I took the "Short Bus" to school because they told me it was faster.....what did they tell you ?

I would suggest that if you're worried about spending $50 here or there on a CBX, you might be in for a big disappointment. Go ahead and spring for the vent Ts - they'll last as long for as you care about them.

Hi Guys

Thanks for your replies - interesting. I'm pretty sure I could make something up but I've spent 2K on the thing so far, so 50 dollars for each T piece is not going to make much difference. (They do seem expensive for what they are though).
thanks for your help

As I found when I began my obsession with the CBX.... a very expensive habit.

I had to give up the meth :o

Actually it's $50 for a pair of Ts from Randakk. The last ones available from Honda were about $27/each, but you also got the plain tube connector between the other carbs.
