Thread Pitch

Post by CopperCollar »

I have a set of VB64 carbs that the fuel adjustment screw was broken off.

I drilled and attempted to extract it but that was a no go even after using penetrating oil and heat.

I drilled it out and picked out the brass bits but need to clean the threads up.

Is that a 6mm x 0.5 pitch or 6mm x 0,75 pitch tap that I need?

Can you measure one of the adjacent screws?

I could but I don't have a pitch gauge.

It's not a 6 x 1.0, of that I am sure.

Mike

Okay, It's a 6mm x 0.75

Mike:

I had a hard time finding that tap. Think I went to a machine tool shop and paid a fortune.

Here's a company that I have found to be a good source for these type things. (Drills, taps, dies, reamers, spanners, etc.) Good prices, large inventory.
