In line fuel diaphragm

Post by jacques8630 »

Hie good body,

I just remove my 1982 fuel line diaphragm and bypass it before searching for a solution.

I have the housing of the unit but there is 2 rubber diaphragm inside and a spring that i wanted to change for new parts.

I dont find them in the market. not at tims either.

So if someone have an idea for making this unit in operation again , il will be very happy.

You'll not find those parts separately. As long as there are no holes in the diaphragm, just clean everything up and reuse.

Salut, Jacques, bienvenue! Je ne suis pas loin de vous et avoir la pièce qu'il vous faut. Je n'en ai pas besoin, mais si vous le faites, envoyez-moi un e-mail.

There are two options if the valve does not work anymore:

- Leave it out and continue to run the bike in the "bypass mode". It will start easier.
- get a complete new assembly. They pop up every now and then. Honda offered it in a kit to retrofit the earlier CBXes which did not have it.

If there is a kit retrofit from Honda, do you have more precision about this kit or part number or at least a link to give me.
A nos one is 275$ which i found abusive for this small diaphragm.
ThanK,s in advance EMS.

Come thinking about it....the retrofit kit for the '79 may not work for your bike. The vacuum valve for 80-82 bikes had two fuel outlets and the 79 retrofit part only one.
Maybe someone will part with the vacuum valve they took off their bike. Quite a few have.
