For the average user its a LOT of trouble. Honestly if its more HP you want get a newer bike and keep your cbx to just ride and enjoy that sweet sound.

LOL.....My little 750 2-stroke provides me the greater horsepower !

I'm actually asking for a friend. His brother died last year and left behind a 79 CBX which is one big rust bucket and the carb assembly is a horror. Rather than parting it out we saw a chance to save her with nothing but hard work and maybe a couple grand (Gasp !!!).

We have access to three flat slides (free) and are contemplating acquire three more. We see a challenge to build a better carb assembly than Honda's complicated nightmare.

Just wondering if anyone has had this experience or seen one done.
