Here's some pictures of my bike. It's going to need some exhaust work, as you can see in the pictures.

Any recommendations. I think it's a pretty rare bike, And I doubt I'll be able to find a replacement part. Is there an aftermarket part available.
I was thinking of taking it to an exhaust shop and having them cut out the bad parts that are rusted and welding new pieces.
Do these pieces that I need to cut out contain any kind of resonator or anything? I see some mesh in one of the areas, or is this just part of the muffler?
Thanks
Newbie David

Re: The Exhaust manifold restoration - fix
Greetings David!
I think that's not worth any effort trying to repair - it's a cool exhaust system but its going to take too much to make it solid again, and a used system is likely a better value in the long run.
Oh and ! We're pretty focused on the 6-cylinder CBX here, but you're certainly most welcome.

Re: The Exhaust manifold restoration - fix
Speaking with Bert at Six Center I asked him the same question regarding my oem's and said yes, he said the headers are excellent quality. In his opinion if you can save the headers and replace the usual rusty sections it's worthwhile. He then showed me a set of headers he had saved and prepared for new collectors and mufflers to be attached to.NobleHops wrote:Greetings David!
