My CBX would hold enough fuel in the float bowls to start it up, ride up from the 2nd underground floor of my old condo's parking garage, to the stop sign at the end of the street, through a left turn, idle a bit at the stoplight a half a block later, and die at the moment the light turned green. :?

I managed to exactly repeat this particular measure at least twice before opening the petcock became more of an automatic/reflex action.

As a somewhat funny coincidence - the day after writing this (today), I was riding to work and ran out of gas just as I was taking off at an intersection on an advanced green for a left turn.

Why is it that stuff like that never happens in your garage just as you swing your leg over to go for a ride? :?
