New project Cbx 1050RR

Post by wilson_bestfurniture »

I just started today my new project that I call Cbx 1050 RR
The RR came from the Cbr 1000 RR, I will use most parts from this bike, front end and rear suspension, seats and tail.
and we will strip down the bike and re-paint the frame, engine and body pieces.
The main color I chose candy red and everything else are black, including exhaust.
I will upload more pictures as we progress.
Of course I wll need some help,
First, I need to find one guy in this forum that changes and upgrade the speedometer, I see one comment from him, but can't find any more.
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the site, Wilson.
Looking forward to following along on another resto mod.
Seeing the pods on the carbs can you report back with the jetting the previous owner used.

I don't remember, the mechanic said something about that but I have no idea what was,
I will ask again.

Looks like an interesting project, looking forward to watching its development!

I had to go to an electronic speedo, but wanted something that would look at home on the bike. I went with Speedhut - the number of possible options is incredible. You might want to check them out.

I have had some issues with condensation in rain. I'm sending them back to have the silicone sealant reapplied, and will be reviewing the way it's mounted on the bike when they come back.

But I'm very pleased with how they look. If you haven't seen mine, you can get to them from the pictures link in my signature.

I decided that I didn't want an exact copy, but when I asked them about it they said that they could do a custom graphic on the gauge face to match the OEM gauge. Of course, if you want something more personal/custom, there are almost limitless options.
