Wildlife

Post by EMS »

We live in a typical Midwestern suburban development, about 30 minutes from downtown Cleveland. This is by all means not a remote area. There is quite a bit of traffic on two North-South arteries on each side of the subdivison and on a main East-West route about 1 mile south. We still have a regular zoo in our backyards.
I took these shots last night, hanging out in the back with my two dogs!!!

First, I saw this club of young batchelors (it was actually four of them) coming out of the woods behind the neighbours house.

Then, about an hour later, after the end of the U.S. Open, this scene straight back from our house

The Doe recognized the dogs and stopped nursing...

..and then slowly and calmly walked her offspring away

To me, it beats shooting them with bullets.
For those inquiring minds: Nikon D3X, Nikkor AF-S 300mm f4/ED in full auto setting.

Great to see them loafing in your backyard and not cruising your roadways.
Nice pics, Mike.
